While viewing leaves blowing through the wind, rivers running along and trees growing from the ground I felt the need to express what I was seeing. Seeing nature grow through human interference is awe inspiring. While we build our skyscrapers and tear down landscapes to make room nature perseveres through it all. Nature and its elements inspire me to express my emotions and it gives me the power to create my works. Through layers of paint and carefully chosen colors I am able to represent the emotions that come from nature. It’s hard to describe what one is feeling but my paintings have been my voice and have given me the opportunity to work through my emotions. A multitude of layers and textures help convey the complexity of our lives. Difficult thoughts and emotions being represented by colors and finding calm within them. The complexity of an art piece represents the complexity of landscapes and humanity intertwining. The representation of the human experience and the process of nature is prevalent in my work. My art is about searching for purity in the world. Art has shown me a way to break through the entanglement that is life.
